Potty Training

This tip comes from my friend Danielle. She said that the best advice she got when it came to potty training was, "Don't. Your child will do it when they are ready." With this she stopped a year's worth of struggling with her daughter and when she was ready (at age 3) the process handled itself.

  1. Truer words were never spoken. I can attest to this. I kept thinking that my son was way past the normal time of potty training but he just didn't seem interested. We pushed it and had a rough time. So I stepped back. A few months later he practically potty trained himself. He is even nighttime potty trained now, all within 1 1/2 months. I won't make that mistake again. Too bad that other parents (and media) will tell you to potty train early. I had a mom the other day say she was going to start at 18 months. Good luck with that.

  2. I totally agree! BEing on number 4, I just let them go with the flow so to speak. :) Way easier than trying to force the issue.
